Projecting Power Zine
A zine of work created by participants of Projecting Power: Photography as Activism workshops led by me for Photo Fringe 2020. A cohort 16-21 year olds were invited to analyse systems of power and modes of activism using the photographic medium during a series of online workshops.
Photography allows us to keep a moment of history, frozen in time and gives us the ability to use the photograph as a tool for our own intentions. The workshops were moments to come together, to share stories, to learn from one another and to empower individual experiences with the strength of a collective.
The work published in the Projecting Power Zine is by the talented young participants created both before and during the workshops. It has been such a joy to witness their desire to learn and to grow creatively, particularly in these trying times, as these workshops took place during the Covid 19 pandemic. Their passion and tenacity was inspiring.
