Southbank Centre: Artist Advisory Collective
In 2025, Natalie Mitchell was part of a collective of artist-practitioners working with Southbank Centre to support the development of a new Arts & Wellbeing programme for young people aged 11-25.
Working collaboratively, the collective contributes to the shaping of a programme centred on creativity, mental health, community, and culturally responsive practice. Mitchell’s role focuses on embedding care-led, participatory approaches that prioritise lived experience and long-term engagement.
This development work led to Your Space, a pilot programme for young people in South London. The day brought together workshops exploring imagination, freedom, nature, safety, and self-expression, creating a testing ground for ideas and approaches that will inform the future programme.
The work emphasises the importance of building sustained, responsive structures for young people, moving beyond one-off activity to create conditions for ongoing participation and agency.
